Coughlin’s story about Iran’s alleged $25 million donation to AK Party disappears from Telegraph website

Well, what a surprise. A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the Daily Telegraph’s Con Coughlin and his laughably piss-poor story alleging that Iran had donated $25 million to Turkey’s ruling AK Party. Coughlin’s story was noticeably missing any actual evidence of the ‘donation’ and seemed to have been sourced from parties intent on damaging the image of the AK Party. Following on from Israel’s PR disaster in May over the killing of nine – mainly Turkish nationals – in the Gaza bound flotilla, it did not take an Einstein to guess who these hostile parties might be.

Anyway, it now appears that the Daily Telegraph have removed Coughlin’s article from their online archive. Certainly, the original story is no longer accessible via its original URL. What a shame.
